About Charlie

Pastor, author, and podcaster helping everyday people follow Jesus.

Charlie Miller

Hi, I'm Charlie Miller

I’m a pastor and author with more than thirty years of ministry experience. I serve as executive pastor of Island Church in Emerald Isle, and I’ve planted, led, and pastored small churches through every season of their life.

I write because I believe people don’t need more complicated theology — they need clear, practical guidance on how to live out what they already believe. That’s why I write books with practical ways followers of Jesus can grow. It’s why I host a podcast that makes theology accessible. And it’s why everything at Hey Church Media is built around one simple idea:

Helping you follow Jesus.

I live in Morehead City, North Carolina, with my wife Kim. I write for the people who keep showing up.

What I Do

The Heart Behind Hey Church Media

Hey Church Media started as a simple idea: create resources that help real people follow Jesus in the real world. No fluff. No seminary jargon. Just practical, honest tools for people who want to grow in their faith. The Field Guide for Following Jesus series grew out of years of pastoral conversations with people who loved God but didn’t know what to do next. The Everyday Theology in Plain English podcast was born from watching people’s eyes glaze over when theology got too academic. And the Strategically Small series came from two decades of watching small churches be told they weren’t enough — and knowing that wasn’t true. Everything I create is for the person in the chair, the couple at the kitchen table, and the pastor in the small office wondering if any of it matters. It does. And you’re not alone.
