Haunted by the car accident that took his wife and unborn child, Jake has spent years drifting from town to town, fixing what’s broken for others while his own heart remains shattered.

But something about Kate’s quiet strength and hidden vulnerability calls to him. As he offers to repair her leaking bakery roof, their cautious friendship begins to heal wounds neither thought would ever mend.

When a nor’easter threatens Beaufort and Pastor Reed’s health takes a turn for the worse, Kate and Jake must confront their deepest fears. Book 2

The Prodigal's Return

He fled from his past… but can he outrun God’s grace?

Luke Carver never planned to return to Beaufort. Ten years ago, a tragic accident claimed his mother’s life and shattered his faith, sending him fleeing from the coastal town that held too many painful memories. Now he’s back, reluctantly helping his ailing father, Pastor Reed, while keeping everyone at arm’s length, especially the church community that once felt like home.

She sees potential where others see problems…

Emily Price has devoted her life to serving others, pouring her heart into Beaufort’s youth and the struggling families in their tight-knit community. When the church’s summer camp faces devastating budget cuts, she’s determined to save it, even if it means working with the town’s most reluctant resident. Luke Carver may be cynical and closed-off, but Emily sees glimpses of the man he could be again.

Some storms reshape the shore…

Thrown together to save the camp that means everything to Beaufort’s children, Luke and Emily clash at every turn. She’s all passionate faith and boundless optimism. He’s all bitter experience and guarded walls. But as they work side by side, something neither expected begins to bloom: a connection that challenges everything Luke believes about second chances and God’s relentless love.

When Pastor Reed’s health takes a dangerous turn, Luke must choose between the safety of isolation and the risk of truly coming home. Can a man convinced he’s beyond redemption find grace in the arms of a woman who refuses to give up on him?

Book 3

The Fisherman's Promise

Some nets are meant to be cast wide. Some hearts are meant to be caught.

Cal Ward has spent five years running from the storm that took his brother – and from the crushing guilt that followed. Living alone on his fishing boat, he’s built walls higher than Beaufort’s lighthouse, pushing away anyone who tries to get close. The last thing he needs is Hannah Brooks and her relentless compassion forcing their way into his carefully guarded world.

But Hannah sees past his gruff exterior to the wounded heart beneath.

As Beacon Church’s dedicated nurse, Hannah pours herself into healing others while ignoring her own exhaustion. When the church’s medical clinic needs help reaching isolated fishing families, she knows exactly who has the boat, and the skills, to make it happen. If only she can convince the town’s most stubborn hermit to trust her.

When a nor’easter traps them together, walls begin to crumble.

Forced to weather the storm side by side, Hannah and Cal discover that healing comes in unexpected forms. As Cal slowly opens his heart to faith, friendship, and the possibility of love, Hannah finds herself falling for the man beneath the scars. But when Pastor Reed’s failing health brings the community together, Cal must choose between the safety of solitude and the risk of loving again.

In Beaufort, the tide always turns… but only for those brave enough to cast their nets into deeper waters.

Book 4

The Anchor's Grace

She guards the lighthouse. He guards his heart. But some walls aren’t meant to stand forever.

For seven years, lighthouse caretaker Tara Lynn has kept Beaufort’s beacon burning bright while keeping her own heart carefully locked away. Betrayed by the man she once loved, she’s learned that lighthouses are far more reliable than people. They don’t lie. They don’t leave. They don’t choose someone else.

When former Army medic Daniel Fisher arrives in the coastal town to establish a grief counseling program for Beacon Church, he’s carrying his own heavy load of survivor’s guilt and sleepless nights. The last thing he needs is another complication, especially one with sea-glass eyes and walls higher than the lighthouse tower itself.

But when time and storms threaten the historic landmark, Tara and Daniel find themselves working side by side to preserve more than just weathered stones and Fresnel lenses. As autumn storms rage across the North Carolina coast, their careful defenses begin to crumble, revealing hearts that have been yearning for harbor all along.

Can two wounded souls learn to trust again? Or will the storms of the past keep them forever anchored in solitude?

In this stirring fourth installment of the beloved Beaufort Blessings series, discover how God’s grace can transform the most broken places into beacons of hope — and how sometimes the strongest lights shine brightest when they’re no longer standing alone.

Some cracks are meant to be filled with gold.

Rachel Monroe has spent five years hiding in her pottery studio, convinced that her broken past has rendered her unusable for anything meaningful. When an emotionally abusive relationship left her shattered, she fled to Beaufort and buried herself in her art… creating beautiful vessels while believing she could never be whole herself.

Jordan Ellis thought he’d found his calling on the mission field. But when civil unrest forces him home to North Carolina, he’s wrestling with a crisis of faith and a devastating sense of failure. Without his ministry, who is he? And what is God’s purpose for a missionary without a mission?

When Pastor Nate commissions Rachel to create a centerpiece for Beacon Church’s new prayer garden, she’s paralyzed by fear until Jordan suggests an ancient Japanese art form called kintsugi, where broken pottery is mended with gold. The cracks aren’t hidden; they’re celebrated. The breaking doesn’t destroy value; it increases it.

As Rachel and Jordan work together on the prayer garden project, they discover they have more in common than shattered dreams. Both are learning that God’s hands are always at work shaping, breaking, and mending hearts for His glory. But can two people who feel beyond repair find the courage to trust the Potter’s design?

In God’s hands, even our deepest cracks can become conduits for grace.

What Readers Are Saying

Great books

I read Beaufort Blessings last week. I couldn't stop reading. The stories were clean and sweet but honest. It is completely different reading romance written by a man instead of a woman. I lived in N Carolina for a few years and have visited Beaufort several times. My favorite book was The Potters Hands. I looked up Kintsugi when i finished. You are my daughter's Pastor. She sent me a link to the books. I was very impressed. I learned some things I didn't know. I found the books uplifting but still fun. Thank you for writing them. The broken-ness in The Potter's Hands really resonated in my heart.

Hope after Heartbreak

The Widow’s Light is a keeper. Kate and Jake’s story seems real, something I could really identify with. It's the story of two people carrying heavy grief, trying to find balance and meaning in their lives. The setting in Beaufort is peaceful and quaint, and the message of faith and second chances is clear and well written. It’s not overly preachy, just an honest and tender emotional read. I’m looking forward to the next book in the series.

The Widow's Light

Simple Faith

One of the most important things to know about this book is that it uplifts and celebrates the belief that there is hope and happiness to be found after incredible loss. It is a short book set in a town and area that I know well. The author managed to infuse that same hope and belief in redemption into his descriptions of the town of Beaufort, the intensity and fragile way of life in a coastal village and the residents. And, Mr. Miller, brought all of this together while threading the strength of faith in God throughout the book. It is a simple book, a quietly impacting story with characters and their lives exciting the belief in me that simple and faith and hope are within my grasp. Well done!

Don't let the storm be the end of your story

This was such a great book that I've been recommending to my friends and family so we can discuss the characters and storyline. I saw these characters in people I know and imagined the Beaufort coast with it's charm and beauty. This is a story that shows what healing can look like when you think all is lost.

Sweet Story of Loss, Love, and Faith

If you've ever experienced the loss of a spouse or partner, you know how devastating and life-changing it is. I do. This story shows how life can once again be promising and even exciting, through the eyes of a young widow. While it is a bit predictable, it shows the power of faith in turning our lives around. It's a quick read and I would recommend it. I'm looking forward to the next book in the series.

Trust, Brokenness, Healing and God's Light

Learning to Trust is a beautiful reminder that our brokenness is not something to hide but a part of our story. Through every crack and scar, God’s light shines, shaping us into something even more beautiful. This book gently teaches how to embrace God’s love and trust His plan, even when the path feels uncertain. It reminded me that our wounds don’t define our worth—they reveal how deeply we’ve been restored. A truly moving and faith-filled read about healing, grace, and letting God’s light guide you home.

Grief, Hope, Faith and Love

A Widow’s Light was comforting, hopeful, and quietly stirring in all the right places. This Christian romance isn’t just about the love between two people, but about the deeper, more enduring love of God that threads itself gently through every chapter. The characters were beautifully real — flawed, searching, and yearning for more than what the world had offered them after storms in their own lives. Their journey through heartbreak, healing, rediscovering faith and love was deeply relatable. The romantic elements were tender and respectful, with a slow-burn authenticity that felt earned rather than rushed. What sets this story apart is how the author weaves faith into the narrative — not as a sermon, but as a lifeline. The moments of prayer, when at times you do not believe God is listening. They reminded me that love rooted in Christ is not only possible but beautiful. If you’re looking for a story that uplifts without sugarcoating reality, that explores romance through the lens of redemption and grace, this book is worth your time. It left me with a full heart, a few tears, and a renewed sense of hope — and honestly, what more can you ask from a story?

The Widow's Light

This book is a great catch!!!

I haven't been able to choose a favorite book in this series yet due to them all having such a realistic plot. I see people that I know in these characters. The author does a wonderful job of expressing real and raw emotion in characters who have been hurt through the trials of life. Reading this series has given me so much hope that even those who feel so far from love and acceptance can be reached out to with open arms. It just takes time for some people to come around. I really like the characters in this book and how they have similarities in their energy levels with how hard they work to give to their community. What they learn along the way about themselves and what they need is so valuable.
